Alongside manual techniques, including massage, joint mobilisation and stretching, I also use phototherapy, therapeutic ultrasound and pulsed electromagnetic field therapy (PEMF). All of these modalities can be integrated into sessions when appropriate to help me treat a range of issues from open wounds, fractures, hematomas, muscle spasms, muscle/tendon/ligament damage and degenerative conditions such as osteoarthritis.
As a physiotherapist my aim will be to ensure your animal is in the best condition possible for the job it has to do. Whether this is an event horse, a happy hacker, a working gun dog or the family pet, I will assess and treat the animal as a whole. I can assist through rehabilitation programs post injury, I can help with wound care, and I can also work with non-veterinary cases to ensure the animals are able to perform to the best of their abillity by optimising their health, strength.and mobility.
All my work must be done under vet referral regardless of the reason for making an appointment. This is a simple process though which I can do for you.
I am fully insured and also a registered member of the International Association of Animal Therapists (IAAT).
